New Bossier Parish Flood Maps Take Effect in Three Months

In just three months, new flood maps for Bossier Parish will go into effect. But before they do, Bossier City and Parish residents are being encouraged to take a look at them now so they can understand their flood risk and consider buying flood insurance.

FEMA's Earl Armstrong says it's a good idea to buy flood insurance now because the rates may go up after the new flood maps take effect on March 19th.

The maps are available for viewing at the Bossier City and Parish Engineers' Offices.  They can also be viewed online here.
