Mudbugs Open 2019-20 Hockey Season Friday and Saturday Nights [VIDEO]

Shreveport Mudbugs General Manager Scott Muscutt talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the team's new season, which kicks off Friday and Saturday nights at George's Pond at Hirsch Coliseum.

The Mudbugs, who won the North American Hockey League championship just two seasons ago, will start their third year in the premier Tier II junior league with high hopes and plans on winning their second Robertson Cup in three years.

Muscutt tells KEEL listeners that the Mudbugs reputation in the hockey universe continues to grow, as evidenced by the 2,000 applications the team received in the off season from players from around the world. "It's awesome," the GM says, "We have guys coming to us saying, 'Ya know, I really wanted to play in the (higher league) USHL, but I really want to play in Shreveport.'"
