The mother of the child who was burned to death in Natchitoches has been arrested. The State Fire Marshal, with assistance from the Natchitoches Police Departmen, have arrested and charged Hannah Barker with one count of principal to 1st degree murder.

Barker told investigators that two people broke into her home, sprayed her with mace and kidnapped her baby boy. An hour after the incident was reported, the child was found on fire about a mile from Barker's home.

Earlier in the week, Felicia Marie-Nicole Smith was arrested for 1st degree murder. The investigation is on going and more charges are expected to be filed. It's reported that Smith and Barker are acquainted but investigators have not said how the pair know each other.

The Louisiana Office of State Fire Marshal, in collaboration with the Natchitoches Police Department, have made a second arrest in connection with the homicide of a 6-month-old boy.
Hannah Barker (DOB 9/25/95), of Natchitoches, was booked into the Natchitoches Parish Detention Center Wednesday, July 25, 2018, on one count of Principal to 1st Degree Murder in the homicide of her son, Levi Cole Ellerbe.  The infant was located set on fire off of Breda Avenue on the evening of Tuesday, July 17.
Earlier this week, Natchitoches resident Felicia Marie-Nicole Smith was arrested for 1st Degree Murder in the case.  Investigators say Smith and Barker were known to each other prior to the homicide. An additional charge is expected to be brought against Smith.
“I want to highlight the determination and dedication of the team of investigators from both agencies who have doggedly worked this case from the start,” said State Fire Marshal Chief H. “Butch” Browning, “Rest assured, that diligent work is not over yet.”
The investigation remains on-going and no further information will be released at this time.
