Mayor Cedric Glover on Monday will visit with two students who spent the summer working jobs provided through the City’s summer jobs program.

The sites are:

  • Sickle Cell Anemia Foundation, 3658 Judson St., 9:30 a.m.
  • Sci-Port Louisiana, 820 Clyde Fant Pkwy., 10 a.m.

Participants, all of whom are between the ages of 16 and 21, have been employed this summer at public and private organizations. The jobs they’ve worked included: clerical aides; recreation aides; day-care center attendants; accounting clerks; receptionists; and maintenance assistants.

Sixty percent of the program participants had to meet low-income criteria or be considered at-risk youth or young adults. The remaining 40 percent were selected from any income level.
