Louisiana's Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser talks with 101/7 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the upcoming Mardi Gras season, which kicked off with his appearance in Shreveport at the Krewe of Centaur Bal this past weekend.

Nungesser, whose office is in charge of promoting Louisiana tourism not only nationally, but worldwide, points out that folks around the world are flocking to the state in record numbers.

He adds that, with this year's Mardi Gras season kicking off, of the nearly quarter million people who attended Shreveport - Bossier's parades last year, 36% of those came to our area from out of state. Nungesser also says that the economic impact to the area was in more than $20 million.
