LSU Health Shreveport Students Go Bald for a Cause on St. Pat’s Day
The LSU Health Shreveport student organization Geaux Bald hosts its 3rd annual Head Shaving Day today, March 17, from 2-6PM in the Biomedical Research Institute (BRI) Atrium.
Last year's event raised over $40,000 for childhood cancer research, with over 55 people going bald.
Organizers have set an even higher goal for this year -- $50,000, but they're close to 60% of their goal already. Funds support the St. Baldrick's Foundation, a charity known for its head-shaving events.
The community is invited to attend and can sign up to have their heads shaved at the event.
