Dr. Nick Goeders, founder of the Loving Solutions in Blanchard, talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright about his home for women recovering from methamphetamine addiction.

"Loving Solutions is a Christ-centered community in the Shreveport area serving women healing from the effects of crystal meth. Once a woman, aged 18 or above, has completed therapy and is drug free, Loving Solutions provides a safe and loving environment where she can learn the life skills that she needs to live drug free"

Goeders, who is also the head of Pharmacology, Toxicology and Neuroscience at LSU Health, explains that Loving Solutions is "a home where women who have recovered from methamphetamine addiction have a place where they can go and learn how to live normal lives again in a Christ-centered environment."

Joining Dr. Goeders is recovering addict Kelly Lovell, who explains that a number of tragedies led her to alcohol and drugs. "The hurt and the fear I had rising inside of me caused took me to where I couldn't function in life." Lovell explains how she started "with just a glass of wine." She then explains how her growing addiction "led to weed, to pain pills" and other drugs, which led to a methamphetamine addiction less than three years later. She then tells of the prison ministry that led her to seek recovery and sobriety, rebuilding her life and the association with Goeders and Loving Solutions.
