John Kay from the Louisiana chapter of Americans for Prosperity talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the complexity of the states tax regulations, the need for fewer regulations and the state's $300 million budget surplus.

Kay tells KEEL listeners that a recent claim by Democrat candidate for the House of Representatives, Brian Salvatore that Edwards "turned a $2 billion annual budget deficit into a $300 million surplus" simply means "that the state just took too much of our money" and needs to give it back.

Kay's Americans for Prosperity will be holding an event this evening (July 31) at Shreveport's Red River Brewery on Marshall Street. Featured speakers will include state reps Alan Seabaugh, Dodie Horton and Raymond Crews. The event, which starts at 6:30, is free, but registration to attend is required.
