
Louisiana Families Set to Receive Full SNAP Benefits Next Week
Good news today for SNAP recipients in Louisiana. The Department of Health is now sending out 100% of benefits to all families using these food benefits across the state.
The government shutdown caused fear and worry for many families who were facing serious concerns about keeping food on the table.
Who Will Be Getting SNAP Benefits in Louisiana
The Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) is not making it clear that 100% federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits will be doled out to all eligible households. This will include able-bodied adults.

When Will Louisiana SNAP Money Be Loaded
About 800,000 residents in Louisiana depend on the SNAP program to pay for food. These benefits will now be going out across the state beginning next week. This announcement clears up tons of speculation about the state plan to send out the money. Governor Jeff Landry issued an Executive Order to send out partial benefits to most of the recipients in Louisiana. But about 53,000 able-bodied folks were not included.

Now that the government shutdown is over, all benefits will be going out.
For families who have not gotten help in November, that money will be loaded next week.
Here Are Details About the Louisiana SNAP Plan
Households that got only 65% of their federal SNAP benefits at the start of November will get the rest of the cash next week.
Elderly and disabled recipients who received 25% state-funded assistance from November 1–4 will keep those funds and receive the rest of their federal November benefits as well.
