Are you a big winner this week?

This week marked the first week of winnings from Louisiana's COVID-19 vaccination incentive program, "Shot at a Million". I've written multiple times about how I love this program. Other states have offered awesome incentives for their residents to get the COVID-19 vaccine, but I feel like Louisiana's is the best. Maybe I'm just biased, or more realistically, I just love money.

That's one thing Louisiana got right with its incentive program. Alabama gave its residents a chance to ride a lap at Talladega Speedway, Louisiana is giving its residents a shot one million bucks! I count that as yet another monumental win for the state of Louisiana against the inferior state of Alabama.

The good news for Louisianians who wish to participate in the "Shot at a Million" program is that you still have plenty of time to register for upcoming drawings. While this week had some impressive prizes that none of us would complain about receiving, the prizes will continue to grow as the weeks pass.

This week, the prizes awarded were one of four $100,000 cash prizes, and one of nine $100,000 scholarships.

The big winners this week were Clement Dasalla and Skyla Degrasse. Dasalla, who is 80 years old from New Orleans, took home the first of many cash prizes, winning the whopping $100,000 in cold, hard cash. Degrasse won the prize of a lifetime, though, considering her age. She is just 17 years old from Hammond, and she took home the life-changing scholarship worth $100,000.

Congratulations to our first two winners! There are four more drawings headed our way in the coming weeks, and if you're fully-vaccinated, you can still enter. You can find those dates below!
