Shreveport City Councilwoman LeVette Fuller talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the latest news concerning the proposed garbage fee and whether the council could vote on Councilman James Green's $7 monthly proposal as soon as Tuesday (March 12).

Fuller tells KEEL listeners that she stands by her previous statement that she is reticent to support a fee of any amount until she sees a detailed plan from the mayor on his plan for any monies saved, adding that as of now, she's a no vote on the Green plan.

"That's what it looks like," Fuller says, "I need more information." She adds that because the $7 fee "doesn't cover the entire cost of running the program. We can't do that at $7, so we can't have an enterprise fund. The councilwoman explains that an sanitation department enterprise fund, a move many in the council have demanded, can only occur if a monthly fee completely covers the annual cost of the program.
