Caddo Court Sentences Man to Seven Years for Sexual Battery

A Keithville man has been given a lengthy sentence following a conviction for sexually assaulting a teenage family member.

58 year-old Robert Mathews was found guilty of sexual battery back in September in a bench trial in Caddo District Court.

The victim reported that he touched her inappropriately. The assaults escalated to further physical contact from December through May of 2023.

The Judge handed down a sentence of seven years to be served at hard labor, without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence. Mathews must also register as a sex offender for 15 years upon release.
