“Jeopardy” Host Alex Trebek Has Died
Trebek has died after battling pancreatic cancer. Trebek was 80 years old. The popular game show host is in the Guinness Book of World Records for the most game show episodes hosted by the same person. He has won 6 Daytime Emmy awards as game show host. He was nominated more than 30 times.
ABC 11 reports on his passing noting he has been battling stage 4 cancer for more than a year. During the spring of last year, Trebek announced his diagnosis on "Jeopardy" social media accounts.
"Normally the prognosis for this is not very encouraging, but I'm going to fight this and I'm going to keep working," he said. "I plan to beat the low survival rate statistics for this disease."
