A Shreveport man is facing serious charges after he allegedly tried to set a house occupied by a woman and several small children on fire.

Christopher Johnson is facing several charges including aggravated arson, felony domestic abuse battery, domestic abuse battery of a pregnant victim, three counts of domestic abuse battery with child endangerment and four counts of resisting arrest.

According to Shreveport Police, officers were called to a home in the 2700 block of Malcolm Street due to a domestic dispute. Once they arrived, they found there had been a fight between a man & pregnant woman.

During their investigation, it appeared to officers that Johnson allegedly tried to set the house on fire with the woman and children inside. Officers say they arrested Johnson at the scene following a struggle.

Police are reporting no injuries from the encounter. An investigation into the disturbance is on going.
