SHREVEPORT, LA-  Shreveport Police Officers apprehend suspect in pawnshop burglary

On December 11, at approximately 5:45 a.m. officers responded to an alarm at a local pawnshop situated in the 1200 block of North Market Street. Upon arrival, officers witnessed two suspects fleeing across the roof of the establishment.

One suspect, identified as 19-year-old James Napier, was successfully apprehended by responding officers. Subsequently, Detectives from the Shreveport Police Property Crimes Unit were summoned to conduct a comprehensive investigation at the scene.

Initial findings uncovered the identities of additional individuals involved in the incident, as the ongoing investigation aims to piece together the full extent of their involvement.

Responding officers managed to recover 12 stolen firearms that had been abandoned by the would-be thieves at the scene. This recovery underscores the effectiveness of the response and coordinated actions of the Shreveport Police Department. The Shreveport Police Department urges anyone with information about this case to come forward and assist in the ongoing investigation.

Napier has been charged with one count of Simple Burglary which is not considered a violent crime under Louisiana revised Statute 14:2, therefore his mugshot is not releasable.
