50 Cent Meets With Shreveport Mayor And Louisiana Governor
Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson shared photos online of a meeting between himself, Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux, and Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry.
Since early 2023 50 Cent has made himself a household name in Shreveport, building a relationship with the city as he has continued to invest in property around town. 50 Cent's main focus in Shreveport has been G-Unit Studios, a film studio owned by Jackson which will use Shreveport as a filming location for future film and TV projects.
Meeting of the Minds
On Wednesday evening 50 Cent shared a post on Facebook featuring photos of him meeting with Gove3rnor of Louisiana Jeff Landry, his family, and the Mayor of Shreveport Tom Arceneaux. Governor Landry also shared his own post on Facebook, thanking 50 Cent for the meeting and stating his excitement to work with 50 Cent to "build a better future for Louisiana."
It's unsure what exactly was discussed in this meeting but it can be easily assumed from Governor Landry's post on Facebook that the three men discussed the plans and future of 50 Cent and G-Unit's investments in Shreveport and likely the State of Louisiana at large.
There is also speculation that this meeting had something to do with Louisiana's Motion Picture Production Program which gives up to a 40% tax credit to motion picture productions made in the state that meet certain requirements. With 50 Cent's plans to create films with G-Unit Studios, there's an obvious incentive for 50 to discuss this tax credit with the Governor who recently called for the legislature to reform the state's tax system.
50's Heres to Stay
Recently there was speculation that 50 Cent may have been ready to move on from Shreveport as he just signed a $15 million Las Vega residency deal. This meeting with Louisiana officials makes it seem unlikely that 50 Cent's ties to the boot-shaped state will be going anywhere anytime soon.
