Shreveport Police have arrested two people following an armed carjacking and pursuit that ended in a crash and foot chase.

Earlier this week, SPD responded to a carjacking near Dupont Street and Marquette Street. Multiple suspects were said to have pulled guns and forcibly removed the victim from their car before driving off with it.

Early the next morning, Patrol Officers found the stolen car and initiated a pursuit. The chase ended at the Gaillardia Apartments on Pierre Avenue when the suspects crashed into a tree.

Four male suspects immediately ran from the car after the crash. K-9 Edy was deployed and was able to stop one suspect from getting too far, while the K-9 handler captured a second suspect.

Dandricus Kennedy was injured while resisting arrest during the K-9 apprehension and was treated. Kennedy was also found to have a gun in his waistband. A 16 year-old juvenile was also caught and arrested.

Both have been charged with Armed Robbery.

At this time, SPD are still searching for the two suspects that got away, and Detectives are actively working to identify and locate them.

From SPD:

"The Shreveport Police Department commends K-9 Edy and his handler for their swift and effective actions in safely apprehending two armed suspects.

Anyone with information regarding the identity or whereabouts of the remaining suspects is urged to contact the Shreveport Police Department or Caddo Crime Stoppers."
