Operation Santa Claus Shreveport: Kick-off Event and Donation Sites
Santa has officially arrived in Shreveport, launching the beloved annual charity event: Operation Santa Claus! The holiday season got an extra dose of magic on Monday, December 1st, as three lucky pre-K classes were invited to the Townsquare Media station here in Shreveport to welcome the Big Guy.
Santa Makes a Grand Entrance
Showing up in style, Santa rolled right up to the radio station in a Shreveport Fire Department firetruck! He called in all of his favorite helpers from both the Shreveport Fire Department and the Shreveport Police Department to aid him in his mission. The officers and firefighters were on hand to visit with the children and help distribute presents before the big day. Even Shreveport Mayor Tom Arceneaux was there to kick off this fun, crucial event!
What is Operation Santa Claus?
Operation Santa Claus is a Shreveport-based charity that has been making kids smile for over 40 years. Founded by legendary KWKH DJ Barney Cannon, the initiative partners the Shreveport Fire and Police Departments with Townsquare Media to provide new toys to underprivileged children in our local area for Christmas.
