Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson Pledges Major Changes to Downtown Shreveport
SHREVEPORT, LA - Thursday was a big day for Shreveport. Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson came to town to formally announce his plans to bring his G Unit Studios to Louisiana. He has plans to produce movies and TV shows right here in northwest Louisiana. But his plans are even bigger than that.
During a VIP event at the Skybox at Independence Stadium Thursday night, Jackson showed a video presentation about huge plans for downtown Shreveport. He is planning to build an arena for events.
He's also planning to build a sphere much like the one in Las Vegas which can show videos and presentations. He's also planning to build a new luxury hotel near his Millennium Studios complex on the west end of downtown Shreveport.
Jackson has also announced plans for a riverfront Ferris wheel to be located next to the Shreveport Aquarium. He's also been buying up property along Texas Street and he is also planning to revamp the Red River District which will include a bandstand, new clubs and restaurants. He also wants to install huge digital billboards much like you would see in Times Square in New York City.
Jackson is also excited to work with Shreveport's Mayor:
Mayor Tom Arceneaux really cares about people, I talked to him today I was really impressed with his energy. I usually be like wait a minute, when politicians are involved but I think he is a whole good guy.
