Shreveport City Council members LeVette Fuller and Grayson Boucher talk with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about Mayor Adrian Perkins nomination of Ben Raymond to be Chief of Police and the prospects for a quick confirmation at Tuesday's regular council meeting.

For Raymond to be confirmed, council rules must be suspended so a vote can be added to the regular meeting agenda, and that has to be by unanimous vote. However, Councilman Willie Bradford seems to be saying, "not so fast."

The District A Democrat expressed almost immediate displeasure that the mayor gave the council his decision only one hour before Monday's work session. Bradford told Perkins that he (Bradford) wished the council had been given more time for deliberation and that he wanted a meeting with Raymond prior to the council's Tuesday session.
