Attorney Hugo Holland talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about legislation proposed by State Rep. Kyle Green of Marrero , who argues that one of the reasons for the state to do away with the death penalty is it's cost.

Holland, who currently "works part time for parishes across the state handling whatever cases they assign to me. Quite a few of the cases are murder cases."

Holland refutes Green's argument, saying, "I find it richly ironic that the people who are opposed to the death penalty say that one of the reasons we shouldn't have it is because it's too expensive. And they're the ones who make it expensive."

Holland continues, "They're the ones who cause the delays. They are the ones who prohibit the Department of Corrections (from performing) executions."
