Governor John Bel Edwards has been providing residents with daily updates on how the state is responding to the COVID-19 outbreak. Today, the Governor will address the public at 3 PM.

According to the latest numbers from the Louisiana Department of Health, there are 4,025 cases reported in the state with 185 deaths. In Caddo Parish, there are 222 confirmed cases and 5 deaths. In Bossier Parish, 57 confirmed cases with 0 deaths.

Also, according to LDH, these are the underlying conditions contributing to death in conjunction with COVID-19:

Below is what we know about the underlying conditions among COVID-19 deaths to date, as of March 29:
  • Pulmonary (12%)

  • Cardiac (21%)

  • Diabetes (40%)

  • Chronic Kidney Disease (23%)

  • Chronic Liver Disease (2%)

  • Immunocompromised (4%)

  • Neurological (6%)

  • Obesity (25%)

  • No Underlying Conditions (3%)
