First Mayoral Candidates Forum This Evening [VIDEO]

Chris Lyon. editor of Heliopolis Magazine, talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the first candidates forum in the 2018 Shreveport mayor's race.

This first Mayoral Forum is set for Tuesday, July 24 at 421 Lake Street at Agora Borealis event center. The forum is sponsored by New Leaders Council and Heliopolis Magazine. It's from 5:30-7:30 and the public is invited. The focus of the event is on three topics: vision and leadership, crime and the economy.

Lyon says that expected candidates include Steven Jackson, Adrian Perkins, Lee O. Savage, Mayor Ollie Tyler and John Paul Young. Republican candidate Jim Taliaferro informed KEEL that he will miss this evening's event due to a previous campaign commitment.

Lyons added that topics for the candidates will be taken from Heliopolis readers questions from the magazines Facebook page and website and will include vision and leadership, fighting crime and jobs and the economy.
