Fire Ant ‘Island’ Survives South Carolina Hurricane [VIDEO]

Hurricane Joaquin hit the east coast of the US this weekend, with flood causing heavy rains across a multiple state area, particularly South Carolina. But nature has its amazing ways of dealing with natural disaster. Just look at how hundreds of thousands of fire ants connect to form a flood proof "ant island", a formation they can hold for as many as four weeks!
