Evangelist Billy Graham Has Died at Age 99
Billy Graham has died at age 99. Reverend Graham became known as "America's Pastor" He was such a powerful part of my childhood who inspired millions.
Graham died at his home Wednesday morning from natural causes. Graham was born in North Carolina in 1918. He spent his childhood years on a dairy farm. But when he was a teenager he attended revival meetings that sparked a spiritual awakening.
After that Graham enrolled at Bob Jones College and the rest is history. My father was a huge Billy Graham fan and we would often watch his TV specials as a family when I was a youngster. There were even a couple of times when Graham moved my tough pop to tears. I'll never forget that.
Here is a part of his sermon from the 1950's:
And this is part of a sermon from 2008. What an amazing man who inspired so many.
Here are some of my favorite Billy Graham quotes:
“It is the Holy Spirit's job to convict, God's job to judge and my job to love.”
“God never takes away something from your life without replacing it with something better.”
“When a brave man takes a stand, the spines of others are often stiffened.”
He was an amazing man and moved so many people closer to God. May he rest in peace.
