District Attorney to Investigate Police Shooting Case
Caddo District Attorney Charles Scott tells KEEL News he has assigned an investigator to look into the police shooting of a Shreveport man.
Scott says he is still waiting on several reports including the toxicology tests and the full police reports on the incident. But a relative of the man killed by police want the FBI to look into the shooting. Jimmerlynn Glover tells reporters police have not given the family details on what happened when her 22-year-old nephew, Deeric Bailey was gunned down. But she says two witnesses report was defenseless as officers opened fire on him along I-20. Police were trying to stop Bailey's car but he fled and got into an accident on the interstate. As officers approached his car, he tried to speed off again, almost hitting a passenger who had jumped out of the car. At that point, the officers opened fire. Bailey was later pronounced dead at LSU Hospital. Listen to KEEL news for the D-A's comments on the case.
