Evacuees have been pouring into the state-run critical needs shelter in the old Sam's Club store on Jewella because of flooding in south Louisiana. They're being bussed in -- many with nothing but the clothes on their backs.
Fewer than 100 people are staying in a shelter in Shreveport, forced from their homes in New Orleans as Hurricane Isaac slams Louisiana's coast. Two are women who fled Hurricane Katrina nearly seven years ago to the day.
Shreveport and Bossier City officials are ramping up their preparations for the arrival of Isaac here -- probably tomorrow afternoon and evening. Sand bags are being made available to residents of both cities.
