Did departing LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger test positive on a recent drug test taken at the NFL Scouting Combine? Well, that depends on your definition of 'positive' and whose explanation you believe.

According to numerous sources, Mettenberger tested positive for having a diluted urine sample, which counts as a failed test under the NFL’€™s drug program. 'Diluted samples' are branded positive tests because it has been associated with attempts to mask drug use.

Meanwhile, Mettenberger's agent, Joe Linta, says medical documentation for Mettenberger's condition was provided to the league's adviser for drugs of abuse and alcohol. Says Linta, 'Zach is clean. There was too much water in his system. He was overhydrated.'

The agent went on to say, 'Zach's not shook up. He followed instructions.'

Mettenberger is projected as a mid-round pick in the upcoming NFL draft.
