Cross Lake Is Back Open in Time for Memorial Day Weekend

Good news for boaters in Shreveport. Cross Lake is back open to boaters. Cross Lake patrol officers tell KEEL News the lake was reopened this morning.

Here's the report we received:

We just opened it based on Cross Lake's water level which is back to a manageable level. We only hope that this incoming rain doesn't cause issues. It is raining on the lake right now. We will monitor the levels. If it rises above the 172 contour line,...it will be re-closed. We are at 171.73 which is a good level. Water is still flowing over the spillway so things are looking good at this moment!!
