If you've driven past or been in Copeland's of New Orleans on East Bert Kouns lately, you've probably noticed that it's been undergoing some major renovations. But what you may not know is that this restaurant, when finished, will serve as the prototype for all of Copeland's existing restaurants in six states and any that will be built in the future. Copeland's Board Chairman Al Copeland, Junior, says the company has spent over $1-million dollars renovating the restaurant -- both inside and out -- to reflect a more distinct New Orleans theme. Copeland says the renovations are about 90-percent complete. This Thursday, by the way, marks Copeland's 14th anniversary in Shreveport.
