Cooking Oil? It’s Amazing What Some Thieves Will Steal!

We've heard about criminals stealing a lot of unusual things, but used cooking oil? That's what happened in Farmerville.

Sheriff Bob Buckley has told the Monroe News-Star that 51-year-old Michael Sanderson of Monroe has been arrested for felony theft of more than $1,500 worth of the stuff. He says Sanderson admitted to pumping oil from vats at Southern Classic Fried Chicken over the past year.

The value of the oil is estimated at $3,600. Sanderson was released on $3,500 bond.
