Commission Declares July 16 ‘Erin McCarty Day’ in the Parish [VIDEO]
Caddo Parish Commissioner Mike Middleton talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the commission's declaration of July 16, 2019 as "Erin McCarty Day" in the parish.
McCarty last month celebrated her 35th anniversary as a Shreveport radio personality and visited New York City to receive a Gracie Award from the Alliance of Women in Media as the country's top medium market talk personality. The commission's declaration comes on the heels of other celebrations of her success, including an American flag flown over the US capitol building from Congressman Mike Johnson and an official congratulations from Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards.
From the commissions declaration:
"Whereas the Caddo Parish Commission notes with great interest and satisfaction those milestone events that occur in the lives of citizens of Caddo parish, and particularly when those individuals have led lives of exemplary service to the community...therefore, be it resolved, by the Caddo Parish Commission, this 16th day of July 2019, that it does in grateful appreciation and recognition of her contributions to this Parish and the ArkLatex hereby declare and proclaim July 16th to be "Erin McCarty Day" in Caddo Parish, Louisiana calling upon all citizens of the Parish to share in this sense of pride, distinction and honor that this attainment deserves."
