Coach O Reportedly Has New Deal with LSU
Reports are surfacing that LSU football Coach Ed Orgeron has agreed to a contract extension with LSU.
Reporter Bruce Feldman tweeted that the deal will keep Orgeron at the helm of Tiger football for six more years.
Feldman says the contract totals over $42 million.
The Advocate is now reporting Orgeron has agreed to terms on a new deal that will pay him close to $7 million a year over the next 6 years. The paper says the deal has now been confirmed by an LSU official.
Coach O was given a contract extension for 2 years back in March and his pay was bumped up to $4 million per year, but this new deal will change that. The new contract still keeps him below the salary paid to Alabama's Nick Saban who leads the SEC with a salary of $8 million a year.
Clemson's Dabo Swinney is the highest paid coach in the nation getting $9 million a year.
