Caddo Commission Making Plans To Get Out Of CPERS

The Caddo Commission is making plans to remove themselves from CPERS and to rework their travel policies. New commissioner Steven Jackson is bringing forth an ordinance asking the commission to take themselves out of being unclassified employees, which would would take them out of the controversial retirement plan.

The ordinance will be introduced at this evenings meeting. Also on the docket, are ordinances to remove commissioners from being included in cost of living increases in the Parish and to lower Commissioner's travel funds from 15 thousand a year to 8 thousand a year. The ordinances will be voted on in February.
