Caddo Parish Commissioner Mario Chavez talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright about growing citizen concerns about an upcoming vote on the Unified Development Code (UDC) and how it will affect residents if rural parts of the parish.

The Unified Development Code is a document that consolidates all development related regulations including zoning requirements, subdivision regulations, design and development standards, and review procedures.

As the Parish Commission moves to modify and update the code, at the suggestions of the Metropolitan Planning Commission, there has been growing concern among Caddo residents outside the Shreveport city limits that the new UDC rules might infringe on their property rights.
