BREAKING: Shreveport City Attorney Creal Resigns
Shreveport City Attorney Mekisha Smith Creal is resigning from her post.

Mekisha Smith Creal has served the City of Shreveport honorably during her tenure as City Attorney. We are grateful for her service and excited for her as she embarks upon this new opportunity as a Special Prosecutor with the Caddo Parish District Attorney’s Office.
We also reached out to Creal for an interview and she just sent us this message:
"Thank you, but I need to focus on working towards a smooth transition. I appreciate your well wishes."
Shreveport Council Chairman James Flurry issued this statement:
Mrs Creal has always provided clear and reasonable response to issues requests. Her availability to me as councilman was always quick. We wish her the best in her new position.
Councilman John Nickelson sent us this statement:
I am thankful to Ms. Creal for her service to the City, and I wish her the very best in her new position with the Caddo Parish District Attorney's Office
