Bossier Police Officer Injured by Ice-Slip Responding to Shooting
On Wednesday, January 17, 2024 around noon, the Valero gas station located at the intersection of E. Texas and Benton Road was the site of a disturbing incident.
Reports indicate that shots were fired, prompting a swift response from law enforcement.
Tragically, one of the responding officers encountered a hazardous patch of ice and suffered a severe head injury after slipping and falling, the impact rendered the officer unconscious. BCFD quickly arrived at the scene and transported the injured officer to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Thankfully, no individuals at the gas station were harmed by the gunfire.
However, the perpetrators responsible for this alarming act remain at large, as no arrests have been made thus far.
Authorities are actively investigating the incident in an effort to bring those responsible to justice and provide a sense of security to the community.
