SHREVEPORT, LA - Another Shreveport store will be closing down after this weekend. Prices have been slashed to get rid of the merchandise before the doors close for good.

The Big Lots store in Shreveport will shut down after Sunday, December 8. This is part of a nationwide plan by the retail company. Big Lots announced in September that the company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection and planned on closing more than 340 stores.

I stopped by the Shreve City Big Lots store to see what is still left on the shelves. I can tell you there's not much. They did have one isle that had stacks of those plastic planters. In the back of the store, you could find a few scattered pieces of furniture.

I did see one isle of some small assorted toys. You won't find any big brand name items here, but they did have some action figures and a few oddities that youngsters might like. They also have a few items for pets left, but not much.

On the food front, not much at all is left. All the canned goods are gone. You could find one shelf of some foods I've never seen before.

There are no paper products left and you also won't find lotions or hygiene products left.

Store associates say they are preparing to lock the doors for good after Sunday. Even all the shelving and fixtures are being sold. Everything in the store is selling for at least 70% off. Some of the items are 80-90% off. The prices are great, but your choices are very limited. I did spot lots of hair accessories and some slippers.

Just know, you are not likely to fill a buggy with the things left on the shelves.
