SHREVEPORT, LA – Do you have some favorite small towns you like to visit? There’s nothing better than checking out a tiny town that has hospitality beyond what you will find in big cities. Far and Wide recently put out a list of the best 100 small towns in America with under 10,000 residents.

 

What Louisiana Town Makes This List?

Only one Louisiana town makes it to this list. These communities are what makes our nation so great. You will find family businesses and lots of peaceful settings in this towns.

St. Francisville, Louisiana ranks #34 on the list with a population of 1,627. The report says St. Francisville is a great town because “arching trees protectively hover over the roads of this gorgeous Louisiana town. As in much of the old South, St. Francisville is known for its numerous plantations, where visitors today can learn about a painful part of the nation’s history.”

The report also says you will find  several Victorian-style homes, built by the many Jewish folks who took refuge in the town during WWII.

St. Francisville is also cited for great food and southern hospitality. One of the best things about this town is the amazing views and walking trails along the Mississippi River. One Texas town makes the list too. The small community of Dripping Springs just west of Austin is #70 on the list with a population of 4,650
