Great Spring Break Beach Options for Louisiana Residents

SHREVEPORT, LA - Before you blink, it will be time for spring break in Louisiana. Now is the time to start planning that beach trip if you have not already booked a spot. The Gulf Coast from Biloxi to Destin, Florida opens the doors wide open to thousands of vacationers from Louisiana. That will happen again this year.

But if you want to avoid the big crowds, you might want to select times not included on the spring break calendar.

When Is Spring Break in North Louisiana?

Here are the dates local schools will be off this spring:

March 11-15 Caddo
March 11-15 Bossier
March 25-29 DeSoto
March 25-29 Webster

Caddo and Bossier students will also be off on March 29 for Good Friday and April 1 for Easter.

When Is Spring Break for Local Colleges?

March 11-15 LSUS
March 11-15 BPCC
March 22-31 Centenary
March 22-April 1 Southern Shreveport

There will also be lots of locals who travel to the mountains for a little snow skiing during spring break. We made a trip to Colorado during one spring break and could find lots of places with a ton of snow still on the ground. If you are a snow bunny, that will also be a good choice this year, especially if your spring break is in early March. But you will probably still have plenty of snow at the end of March.

But a large percent of Louisiana residents who take a vacation will be heading for the beaches along the Gulf Coast this year.
