[UPDATE]  An arrest has been made in last week's attempted robbery at the Cloverdale Apartments. Thanks to a Bossier Crime Stoppers tip, detectives with the Bossier City Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit were able to identify 21-year-old Verndell Winn and locate him at a home in the 1900 block of Scott Street. He's charged with home invasion.________________________________________________________________

[ORIGINAL STORY]  The Bossier City Police Department and Bossier Crime Stoppers are asking the public for help with locating the armed suspect who tried to rob a man at a local apartment complex.Police were called to the Cloverdale Apartments in the 2200 block of Shed Road at about 3 yesterday afternoon in reference to an attempted armed robbery. The victims, a man and woman, tell police they were inside the woman’s apartment with their young child when the suspect entered the apartment armed with two handguns and demanded money. The suspect, who had red beanie pulled down over a portion of his face, then struck the male victim in the head with one of the weapons before running away without taking anything.

The suspect was caught on security camera video getting into a burnt orange colored Mitsubishi Eclipse and fleeing the scene. The suspect is described as a black male, about 5’8” tall, 170 pounds, with a medium build and was wearing a red beanie on his head along with a black shirt and black shorts.

Anyone who can help police locate this suspect is asked to call Bossier Crime Stoppers at (318) 424-4100. Callers to Crime Stoppers are reminded they may remain totally anonymous and could be eligible for a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest.
