Bossier City is getting a major face lift. The city plans to extend the Arthur Ray Teague Parkway through the heart of the city and to completely revamp the downtown area. Tuesday, the City Council approved extending the Parkway and appropriated 2 million dollars from the Capital Projects Funds to get the project started.

Currently, the plan is to extend the Parkway to connect with I-220 and Benton Road. Construction is expected to start in the summer of 2017 and will cost roughly 42 million dollars. The city plans on borrowing the money and then paying it back with funds generated from casino taxes.
