Another Man Runs from Shreveport Police on a Minibike?
SHREVEPORT, LA- Mini Bike Chase Sends Man to Jail for Multiple Charges
On August 24, just after 2:00 AM, Shreveport Police officers conducted a traffic stop on a man operating a miniature motorcycle at the intersection of Clyde Fant Parkway and Shreveport Barksdale Highway. Upon making contact with police, the man fled, leading officers on a pursuit through the area. The chase involved the suspect weaving off the roadway, cutting through parking lots, and driving the wrong way on Clyde Fant Parkway.
During the pursuit, officers observed that the suspect was armed with a firearm. The chase continued as the suspect crossed into Bossier City and proceeded down Arthur Teague Parkway. Eventually, the man lost control of the vehicle, and with the assistance of Bossier City Police, Shreveport officers were able to take him into custody.
The suspect, identified as 35-year-old Alexander Hawbaker, has been arrested and charged with multiple felonies, including:
- One count of Aggravated Obstruction of a Highway
- One count of Possession of a Schedule I Narcotic
- One count of Illegal Carrying of Weapons
- One count of Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property
- One count of Aggravated Flight from an Officer
- One count of Reckless Operation
- One count of Resisting an Officer
- Multiple traffic violations
