Pollster John Couvillon of JMC Enterprises of Baton Rouge talks with 101.7 / 710 KEEL's Robert J Wright and Erin McCarty about the coming election, early voting and voter turnout.

Couvillon tells KEEL listeners his opinion on the Shreveport mayor's race, saying, "The challenge that any Republican has in the city of Shreveport is that you're talking about a black electorate of about 50%, so if you want to be able to win, that does mean you have to get black crossover votes."

Couvillon also points out that the current count on early voters across the state is 215,000, but "very rarely am I impressed by early voting numbers. But for a midterm election - to put 215,000 in perspective - that is the eighth highest early vote ever. I think there's a very real possibility that by the time early voting is finished Tuesday night, there's going to be one or two records that are going to be broken"
