2 Juveniles Arrested for Setting Fire to Shreveport Park
Two Juveniles Arrested for Playground Fire Shreveport fire investigators have arrested one 10-year-old and one 11-year-old in connection with a fire at a local park. Each juvenile was charged with one count of violating LA R. S. 14:59 A. (1) Criminal Mischief.
On Saturday, April 22, 2023, firefighters were called to Greenbrook Park in the 8700 block of S. Emerald Loop in reference to a playground fire. It was discovered that multiple pieces of play equipment either received partial damage or were completely consumed by the fire.
After an investigation of the scene and a collection of statements and evidence, the fire was determined to be intentionally set and investigators were able to identify the two juveniles as suspects.
After additional efforts, both were arrested by summons and released into the custody of their concerned adults. Per state statute, the possible penalties of committing the crime of criminal mischief include a fine of not more than five hundred dollars, or imprisonment for not more than six months, or both.

Because the suspects are juveniles, officials are not allowed to release mugshots. All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
