There's an old joke about Australia - that basically says everything there is huge and can kill you. Well, that same joke can be used to describe to wild life of Louisiana. We are home to all kinds of animals, insects and creatures that can potentially kill you. Or, at the very least, greatly inconvenience your day if you run across one unprepared.

I mean alligators are literally dinosaurs and they're all over the place. Louisiana, on the creature front, really is America's version Australia. So, with that thought in mind, I was just messing around on the internet and fell down a rabbit hole of unique insects that call Louisiana home. Some of them are huge. Some are dangerous. Some are beautiful. A lot are some combination of all the above.
