14 time major champion Tiger Woods announced today that he will play in next week's Masters.

"I'm playing in the Masters," Woods announced on his website Friday afternoon. "I've worked a lot on my game and I'm looking forward to competing."

Because of injuries and poor play, Woods has not participated in a PGA Tour event for more than two months.

The four-time Masters champion has played in only two events this season. In early February he missed the cut at a tournament in Phoenix and withdrew due to a back injury the following week in San Diego.

Woods played a practice round at Augusta National on Tuesday, then again at the famed course on Friday. The Masters gets underway with first round action on Thursday.
