Suspect in Theft of Audi from Bossier City Dealership Arrested

The man suspected of stealing an Audi A7 from Moffitt Audi in Bossier City last Friday while on a test drive is in custody today in Baytown, Texas.  

Bossier City detectives had collected enough information and evidence in connection to the theft to obtain a warrant for the arrest of 37-year-old Mark Owen Burkett of Shreveport on a felony theft charge. When he was stopped in Texas late last night for a traffic violation, that warrant came up on the computer.

Bossier City spokesman Mark Natale says Burkett remains jailed in Baytown and also faces unrelated charges in Houston, which could delay efforts to bring him back to Bossier City.

The stolen Audi was recovered this week in southeastern Panola County, Texas, and has since been returned to the dealership.
