Louisiana Boardwalk Longtime Restaurant Unexpectedly Closes

Employees at the IHOP location at the Louisiana Boardwalk showed up for work Friday morning only to be greeted with the news that the restaurant is closing immediately.  Employees were notified that they will need to find new jobs.

A recent Facebook post announced that one of the employees is currently looking for a new job.  Employees were able to stay at work today if they were willing to stay and help pack up the store.

KEEL News reached out to the IHOP Boardwalk location, but received no answer.  And if you attempt to place an online order at the Boardwalk location, it automatically transfers your order to the Airline Drive location in Bossier.

The Louisiana Boardwalk website currently still has IHOP listed as a Dining Location, along with 5 other restaurants.  Restaurants left at the Boardwalk include Fuddrucker's, Hooter's, Joe's Crabshack, Saltgrass Steakhouse, and Sushiko Sushi & Grill.

Ashley Warner, General Manager of the Louisiana Boardwalk confirmed to KEEL News Friday morning that the Boardwalk IHOP is closed.  Warner said the location had become about 4 months behind in their rent.

According to Warner, customer service at the Boardwalk location had declined over the past year leading to many customer complaints.  The Boardwalk IHOP recently changed from a 24-Hour location down to 'regular' restaurant hours.

IHOP now has two locations left in Shreveport Bossier market, including the Airline Drive location in Bossier, and the Youree Drive location in Shreveport.
