Shreveport Landmark Market-Deli Closing
Customers making their regular stop into Maxwell's Market today will find a very unwelcome, and lately, all too familiar, sign on the door.
The news has already begun to spread across social media.
I just heard that Maxwell's Market is closing! Is that true?
Confirmed, Maxwell’s is closing January 31.
I worked there as a chef for 13 years with Ross Barclay Realtor and it was a booming business!
What a shame.
Ross Barclay put his heart and soul in that business for 25 plus years and it brakes my heart to see that Shreveport landmark close. Hopefully some can come in and save it.
Maxwell's also announced that they are closing one of their three locations in Baton Rouge, causing a little confusion in the comments about whether it's the Shreveport location is actually closing.

Sorry to hear that. I always loved going there “back in the day”

I think it's one of the Baton Rouge locations.
Maxwell's Market is known for offering high-quality meats and deli items .... they recently sold in October 2022 to a local couple, Eric and Andrea Reuther, who also own Bodacious Bar & Q on Line Avenue.
In addition, Maxwell's offers a variety of deli sandwiches, salads and party platters. But if you want to enjoy their offerings... you only have until January 31st.
